Standing in a lonely valley is the ancient hump backed bridge of Pont Scethin.Beneath the bridge the River Ysgethin flows down to the sea at Talybont,close to Barmouth.The ancient structure is probably well known to walkers who cross the Rhinog range of mountains and to Drovers long since gone,but it is still hard to believe that the London to Harlech stagecoach used to rumble across this wonderful bridge.A beautiful and peaceful place.One of my all time favourites.

Within a few hours the entire field had been cleared of bales and machinery.The Rhinog foothills and the passes of Bwlch Rhiwgyr and Bwlch Cammaria can be seen top left and middle.The Cadair range is just visible on the right of the picture.

Showing the emergence of the new Marram grass and some of the established areas of the sand dune system. Although appearing to be dry and barren there are many plants and animals surviving happily in this environment.A permit is required to access certain areas of the site.

This area of land was the first to be donated to the National Trust in March 1895.The town of Barmouth(Abermaw) became popular in the 19th century when the combination of sea, sand and mountains started to attract visitors.
